Mental Health Awareness

This introductory course is designed for adults and raises awareness of mental health. Over the course of four hours you will learn:

  • What mental health is and how to challenge stigma, including factors which affect mental health

  • A basic knowledge of some common mental health issues, including stress and stress management, depression, anxiety disorder, psychosis and eating disorders

  • An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing, including helpful resources

  • Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue, including spotting the signs, suicide, self-harm, recovery and ‘Take 10 Together - starting a supportive conversation’

Note the maximum number of delegates on this course is 14. It is delivered by the same team who deliver our Mental Health First Aid Training.

Eligibility criteria:
you must live and/or work in a rural community or agriculture. Priority will be given to applicants from Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
